Why Become A DCHBA Member?
Stay with us! 8 reasons
why DCHBA is the place to be now!
Thank you for your membership, and enclosed please find
details about renewing to keep benefits of the Door County Home
Builders Association (DCHBA) coming your way.
Your DCHBA membership is especially important now. So, stay
associated with DCHBA. We included some comments from your
colleagues on the value of DCHBA. Take a look:
1. Continuing education classes:
Programs like the lead safe renovator training classes in spring
2010 were filled to capacity and made it possible for DCHBA members
to meet state requirements. Expect more intriguing topics in 2010
and beyond!
"DCHBA members are on the cutting edge of construction
trends. How would people find out about housing industry issues
over the years if they were not linked to us?" Tom Borkovetz,
Borkovetz Building & Supply, Sturgeon Bay.
2. Showcase of Homes: This marquee spring
event-a tour of new homes and remodels--is open exclusively to
DCHBA members, allowing them to meet personally with truly
interested housing prospects. "We have received jobs-large and
small-after participating in the DCHBA Showcase of Homes,"
Adam Deuchert, A. J. Deuchert Construction, Forestville.
3. Home & Garden Expo: Another
marquee event of the DCHBA is held annually in Door County to
acquaint homeowners with what's new and popular in building and
remodeling.
"People like to meet with builders and other suppliers in
person at the Expo exhibits and seminars. Customers have told us
'We feel comfortable. Let's get going with this project,'"
Kevin Guilette, Countrywide Construction, Maplewood.
4. Scholarships: DCHBA cares about the
future of the home building profession and coordinates an annual
scholarship program and participates in the Door Kewaunee Business
& Education partnership (DKBEP). "DCHBA reaches out
to the local community and sponsors events that support teens
interested in the profession," Deb Counard, Valley Cabinet,
Inc., Sturgeon Bay.
5. Networking: Monthly general membership
meetings provide opportunity to meet others and develop
relationships. "DCHBA, as well as its companion Door
County Development Council, have afforded me priceless
opportunities to meet people and also inform them of our
services," Ron Trimberger, Door County Interiors & Design, Egg
Harbor.
6. Cellcom phone plan: DCHBA members
enjoy discounts while keeping their workers, in vast locations,
connected. "We have been able to receive
phenomenal discounts, as a DCHBA member, that would otherwise
not be available to us," Jack Gigstead, PortSide
Builders, Inc., Sturgeon Bay. Other discounts are available through
the Wisconsin Builders
Association's insurance services.
7. Annual golf outing: Enjoy one of Door
County's beautiful golf courses while networking with others.
"And the event also raises money for the Wisconsin Builders
Association's Political Action Committee (PAC), which works to
advance our industry and help homeowners," Jeff Dorner, Van's
Lumber & Custom Builders, Dyckesville and Egg Harbor.
8. A 3 for 1 membership
value: Don't forget. Your annual dues includes membership
in three organizations and is an outstanding value: the local Door
County Home Builders Association, the state Wisconsin Builders
Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
"The members are out there working hard for our
industry. Any time I talk to a new builder, who comes into the
area, I encourage them to be part of the DCHBA," John Wiese,
WE Builders, Inc., Sturgeon Bay.
