Scholarship Announcement

  The Door County Home Builders will award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00.  This scholarship will be given to qualified graduating high school seniors who are residents of Door County, have a 2.5 grade point average or above and are furthering their education in the field of the building industry.

 This scholarship has been opened up to individuals furthering their education in the building industry field because of job displacement or due to a career change.

 The applicant must apply in writing for the scholarship by submitting the following information: 

  • Anticipated course of study.
  • College or Technical School student will attend.
  • Essay on "Why I am interested in the building industry".
  • Submit transcripts of grades along with the application. 
  • Social Security Number. 
  • Community Involvement.

The scholarship will be paid directly to the University or Technical School which the student will be attending.  The scholarship will be paid at the beginning of the second semester.  The scholarship amount is specifically for tuition and books.

 Application must be received by March 30, 2012.

The Door County Home Builders will award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00.  The following qualifications must be met in order to apply: 

  • Must be a resident of Door County
  • High School grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or above
  • High School Transcript must accompany application
  • Applicant must be pursuing a course of study in a field of the building industry
  • The scholarship is open to students or any individual furthering their education in the building industry field because of job displacement or due to a career change.  

Other information to note: 

  • The application must be filled out by the applicant.  Please type or print clearly.
  • The scholarship is open to any county resident, including but not limited to relatives of DCHBA members.
  • The scholarship amount is specifically for tuition and books.
  • The Scholarship will be paid directly to the university or technical school which the student will be attending.  The scholarship will be paid at the beginning of the second semester. 
  • Awards will be based on academic achievement and potential, character, leadership, social awareness and career goals.  Applications will be judged by a committee within the membership of the Door County Home Builders Association. 
  • Application must be received by March 30, 2012. Return application, essay and transcripts to:
